Whoa

One of last year’s biggest success stories was the phenomenal re-release of the original Crash Bandicoot games. Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy sold gangbusters upon its PS4 release, holding chart supremacy for weeks and inspiring a host of horrid new memes.

Activision have taken note of all of the green rolling in and are once again preparing to stoke the nostalgia fires. In a recent investor report, in which the publisher summarises the success of 2017, Activision state that they plan to revisit more titles from their back catalogue.

“We expect to deliver ongoing content for our various franchises, including expansion packs for Hearthstone and Destiny 2, in-game events for Overwatch, and map packs for Call of Duty: WWII,” says the publisher, before adding “as well as releases of remastered versions of titles from our library of IP”.

No mention is made of which specific IP are being considered for remaster, but brands such as Spyro the Dragon seem to be a snug fit for such treatment. With Crash Bandicoot raking in the big bucks, I’m sure we won’t have to wait too long to find out who is next to receive a digital facelift.
