Introducing Assassin’s Creed Memories

With Hearthstonetaking the world by storm, why wouldn’t the biggest videogame publishers want in on that action? Ubisoft’s smart enough to recognize a good thing when it sees it, and agile enough to act quickly. As a result, Ubisoft paired its most popular franchise with the card battle genre, and we’ll get to see the finished product sooner than later.

Assassin’s Creed Memoriesis a free-to-play title for iOS devices that is said to blend card battle, role-playing, and strategy elements. Players are tasked with building guilds, recruiting allies, and of course, defeating other players. Memorieswill span famous locales and notable eras — many of which have been settings for past Assassin’s Creed titles.

While Ubisoft promises a “deep and engaging” singleplayer experience, it sounds like the focus is probably the competitive multiplayer component, asMemorieswill feature 20 versus 20 battles. While it’s a free-to-play game, Ubisoft hasn’t yet mentioned what sort of monetization model Memoriesis going to have. Regardless, it seems like an interesting enough twist on Assassin’s Creedthat fans may be able to enjoy something new here. We’ll find out soon enough, as it’s projected for a worldwide launch in the near future.
