Coming to North America this summer and Europe by fall

Atlus USA just announced plans to localizeDungeon Travelers 2:The Royal Library & the Monster Seal, aPlayStation Vita-exclusive role-playing game “for dungeoncrawling fan-service devotees.”

Here’s the synopsis:

The kingdom of Romulea is in peril. Monsters are leaking out of every nook and cranny in the land, and to make matters worse, they have started an uprising against humanity. Players take on the role of Fried, an adventurer from the Royal Library sent to stop the uprising. But early in his journey, he discovers a broken shrine along the way. This sets in motion the story ofDungeonTravelers2, where Fried travels around the kingdom of Romulea, and through rescuing, defeating, or bumping into any of the 16 unique girls that can join his party, Fried is on a mission to save the world!

The story is standalone, according to Atlus, so don’t worry if you haven’t played its Japan-only predecessor, which originally released on PlayStation Portable during the summer of 2011.

This one also came to PSP in March 2013 and was later ported to Vita last September.

Atlus didn’t make much fuss over the RPG’s risqué content, but it’s worth noting the game comes from Aquaplus(AquaPazza, Tears to Tiara II) and is based on the developer’s eroge visual novel franchiseTo Heart 2. As it stands, the publisher says the title hasn’t yet been rated by the ESRB.

Dungeon Travelers 2is planned for a summer launch via both physical and digital formats. It will feature English text alongside the original Japanese audio and be compatible with PlayStation TV.
