I don’t know why it’s happening all of a sudden, but I love the idea of beloved Game Boy Advance games popping up in 2021 in one form or another — especially when the name Castlevania is invoked. Fans like me will take what we can get.
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, a revival of the amazing first two games in Nintendo’s long-tucked-away tactical series, was one of the biggest surprises at E3 2021. Now, courtesy of the Australian Classification Board, we’ve got a rating for something called Castlevania Advance Collection. Yes, please! In both cases, I’m in — the money’s ready.

In this case, I’d expect a pretty focused compilation along the lines of Castlevania Requiem, which just bundled two games: Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood.
If that’s the case, and the (great) DS games remain stranded on that system, then we’d expect to see Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Having spent a lot of time with the Castlevania Anniversary Collection over the past year, I’m ready to revisit the post-SotN games, for sure.
As an aside, I can’t help but laugh (and cry) given that I still have my Wii U hooked up almost exclusively as an oversized GBA for Castlevania, Advance Wars, and others. Ideally, we could revisit this stuff on the Nintendo Switch as a premium perk, but, you know.
The Castlevania Advance Collection rating was filed by Konami Digital Entertainment and the studio you’d want for this kind of revival project, M2, is credited as well.

Let’s go. “Bloodstained 2 and Castlevania re-releases” isn’t the best-case scenario — imagine an “HD-2D” take on the series — but I’m happy enough right now.
