Yves Guillemot sings its praises again

So, the NX, guys. It’s a contest reward for Splatoon tournaments. It’s been talked about for months on end, and praised by multiple developers — Square Enix even confirmed, then de-confirmed, then confirmed Dragon Quest NX. The cat is way out of the bag but Nintendo is being Nintendo and waiting for the perfect moment to strike, so we can hear all of the “Nintendo has done it again” hot takes.

But for now, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is talking NX again, and speaking to IGN, he thinks the interface is “very attractive,” and that “all gamers” will be able to easily use it. He also teases its “different experience,” and that Nintendo “came out with something new that is adapted to what we actually want now.” I can only assume that last bit refers to processor power, and the constant notion that Ubisoft was disappointed in the Wii U (it basically cut off support after Assassin’s Creed III, a series it constantly complains consoles can’t keep up with).

As I always say, Ubisoft has said this before. It was all about the Wii U, and then like EA, dropped off the face of the Earth and almost acted like it never supported it in the first place. It’s in its nature to about-face the second it isn’t selling, but for now, we can all wait and wonder what the NX is.
