Darksiders III fails to break the Top 30 of the UK Charts

FIFA 19 retains the top spot

It can’t be denied that most games have struggled with physical sales this year. The UK Charts have featured a lot of major titles that saw a serious reduction in the amount of physical units shifted, compared to their previous releases.

Spare a thought for Gunfire Games’ Darksiders III, however, which failed to break even the Top 30 of the charts, debuting at number 32, only just scraping into the charts at all. The third-person action-adventure has received review scores high and low, and this is an auspicious start for the sequel. Hopefully things will pick up for the game in digital sales.

Elsewhere in the charts, it was mostly just mild shuffling. Electronic Arts’ FIFA 19 remains at number one, while Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2, Activision’s Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu are among the releases jockeying for position in the Top 10.

This week sees the release of the Persona Dancing games (which aren’t gonna light a fire) and, of course, Nintendo’s biggest release of the year: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The battle for the coveted Christmas number one slot begins this coming weekend.
