It had 125 million in June

Earlier this year in June, Epic Games released information regarding Fortnite‘s player base that put it at around 125 million users. Coming in at the end of November and they’re at “over 200 million” (total accounts) according to Bloomberg. That’s a base roughly the size of Pakistan, the sixth largest country in the world.

Its creator Epic, still based in North Carolina, is heartily enjoying its success as it leaned into the idea of steadily monetizing Fortnite‘s Battle Royale component through “season passes,” which ask players to pony up cash every few months for extra gear and quicker rewards. They opened a branch in Sweden just this year and are planning on cementing a presence in the New Zealand/Australia area.

For those who are curious, its competitor PUBG has a US all-time peak of 3,236,027 players on Steam and has sold 50 million copies of the game: but thanks to international numbers and their mobile arm, PUBG Corporation hosted 400 million total users back in June.
