The summer of gaming news is far from over

As we finally hit the recovery process from June’s E3 extravaganza, Europe’s premier games industry event, Gamescom, is already getting into gear for its 2021 season announcing the attendee lineup for this year’s event. A huge number of developers and publishers have already announced their attendance, where they are expected to provide further updates on their respective incoming wares.

Gamescom’s organizers, Koelnmesse and the German Games Industry Association (GGIA), will be holding Gamescom in an online capacity, eschewing its traditional Koln-based live event as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to render public gatherings unsafe. Over a series of live streams — including Geoff Keighley’s annual Opening Night Live showcase — viewers can expect to see new titles, updates, and surprises from the following 19 companies, among many others.

  • 505 Games
  • Activision
  • Aerosoft
  • Assemble Entertainment
  • Astragon Entertainment
  • Bandai Namco Entertainment
  • Bethesda Softworks
  • Electronic Arts
  • Gameevil COM2US Europe
  • Headup
  • Indie Arena Booth
  • Koch Media
  • Next Studios (Tencent)
  • Sega Europe
  • Team17
  • Thunderful Games
  • Ubisoft
  • Wargaming
  • Xbox

While Xbox is featured in the list of attendees, both PlayStation and Nintendo do not make an appearance. Nintendo was not a part of last summer’s Gamescom lineup, and as such is unlikely to show up again this year. There’s still over a full month to go before Gamescom 2021 kicks off, plenty of time for further developers to announce their attendance. Of course, we’ll be sure to bring all of the headlines from Opening Night Live and its following live streams as the event progresses.

Gamescom 2021 runs from Wednesday, August 25 to Friday, August 27.
