And he’s coming to PC and consoles

It has been revealed that a video game based on The Adventures of Tintin is currently in development. The announcement was made by publisher Microids, which is collaborating with Moulinsart – the company responsible for curating the Tintin IP – to bring the boy reporter’s antics to PC and consoles.

For uncultured swines, The Adventures of Tintin was a comic drawn and written by Belgian cartoonist Georges Remi, better known by his nom-de-plume Hergé. Running in various publications from the late 1920s to the 1970s, The Adventures of Tintin detailed the escapades of a young Belgian reporter as he investigated international crimes and mysteries, fighting corruption and injustice with his trousers tucked into his socks.

Accompanied by his dog Snowy and unsteady seafarer Captain Haddock, Tintin’s exploits often land him in hot water, with his journeys taking him to far-off locations such as the pyramids of Egypt, the jungles of Africa, and even into outer space. Over the years, The Adventures of Tintin has been adapted into several TV series, and hit the big screen in 2011 via CGI movie Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. Tintin has also featured in several video games, including 1989’s Tintin On the Moon, and 1995’s Tintin in Tibet.

Described by Microids as an action-adventure title, The Adventures of Tintin will “transport the player into a whirlwind of incredible situations and suspense,” and will feature other popular series characters, including the finicky Professor Calculus and dopey twin detectives Thomson & Thompson.

The Adventures of Tintin is currently in pre-development for PC and consoles.
