Download and install times are a priority

Microsoft has been supporting the features of the Xbox One since February, but it’s not prepared to quit just yet. These monthly updates will continue at least through October, as Microsoft already has the content planned out.

Tweeting away as he likes to do, Xbox head Phil Spencer replied to a user that the Xbox One will receive updates for the next three months at a minimum. One issue that’ll surely be addressed is the ability to digitally pre-order games, as the company has already said that’s coming soon with Sunset Overdrive. Additionally, Spencer commented that he’s also focused on download and install times, but didn’t outline any plans to improve those areas.

It’s certainly possible that Microsoft will continue monthly updates beyond October, but that’s all that’s set in stone at this point. Of course, even if those drop off, the Xbox One will still be supported through periodic updates, just at a less regular rate.
