DLC to enhance console toy versions

It’s a good day forNarutofans, fans of PC fighting games, and fans of “enhanced edition” rereleases. Namco Bandai has just announced that itsUltimate Ninja Stormseries will be making a PC platform debut inNaruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst, an enhanced port ofUltimate Ninja Storm 3(a game I rather liked), scheduled for this winter on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

The enhancements include a new playable character, Sage Mode Kabuto, and a new adventure based on the recent canonical chapters featuring Itachi and Sasuke’s battle against Kabuto, complete with boss-fight QTEs and all that stuff. Existing in-game cutscenes will be tweaked for added drama (check the trailer and gallery for some comparisons). 38 additional costumes gathered from the game’s DLC packs will also be included in theFull Burstedition.

While theFull Burstedition will be re-released to retail for consoles, owners of the existing “vanilla”Ultimate Ninja Storm 3will be able to acquire the enhanced content as a DLC pack.

Great news all around! PC users can now experience the anime glory of the series provided they don’t screw up the port job (I’m lookin’ at youDark Souls), and existing console fans will be able to get the same stuff without having to re-buy the game. I think I’m ready to *ahem* believe it.
