Slug Cat Pups in demand on PS Vita and Wii U

Rain World‘s kickstarter is in its last day, so if you’re looking to get in on all the game’s backer bonuses and the like, you better jump on that quick. Those newly revealed Slug Cat Pups need your protection. In case you missed it, Rain World uses a combination of traditional 2D animation and code-based procedural animation, giving the simple sprite based characters a unique, lifelike feeling. It’s a game of survival, featuring Garbage Worms, Stealth Bugs, a Brain Tree that drips, and a lot more.

It’s the kind of game that a lot of people would like to see on consoles, and now that it’s hit the $50K stretch goal, the chances of that happening are looking a lot better. What consoles you ask? According to the game’s developers “…there has been a lot of backer interest in PS Vita and Wii U, so that’s likely where our initial goals will be beyond PC, Mac and Linux, but we are keeping our options open. We’d like for everybody to be able to play!”

Like the similarly named Risk of Rain, Rain World is the kind of game that a lot of people would like to hold in their hands and love. With any luck, we’ll get our chance to do just that.
