So where’s that adapter Nintendo?
As we all know, the New 3DS will have the ability to work with amiibo out of the box — as long as the game allows it. Thankfully, Super Smash Bros. 3DS will be getting an amiibo-centric software update tomorrow, ensuring that everyone in the US will be able to play with them once the new hardware iteration drops on February 13.
That’s great! The only issue now is that millions of “old” 3DS users don’t have the adapter to even utilize amiibo functionality. Hopefully it’ll arrive soon — a Nintendo rep recently stated in a reddit AMA that development on the accessory was basically complete, and that it was slated to arrive sometime between amiibo Waves 3 and 4.
