The PlayStation Network is finally back online

For real this time

Sony seems to have finally cured the ill that has plagued its consolessince Christmas Day.

“PlayStation Network is back online,” Catherine Jensen, consumer experience VP at SCEA, wrote over at the PlayStation Blog. “As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.”

The network returned sometime Saturday evening, albeit with some services experiencing bouts of intermittent connectivity. While many PlayStation users have been able to get back online, others still seem to be experiencing trouble. Tell us how things are shaking out on your end.

Thank you to all the engineers that worked through the holidays to fix this mess.
