Back in the saddle

We were pretty bummed last year to hear that Microsoft were passing on two of the world’s biggest videogame trade shows: Europe’s gamescom and Japan’s Tokyo Game Show. But they turned that around, thankfully.

Microsoft confirmed that they’d be at next month’s gamescom in a big way earlier, and we heard they would probably show up at TGS. Looking at the newly released exhibitor list for Tokyo’s September event we see them listed, presumably to show off their Xbox One. That’s nice to see. TGS isn’t the same without their crazy show floor booth.

Now we’re back to normal with all major players there except Nintendo. Sony, Capcom, EA, Sega, Square Enix, Konami, Namco Bandai, Tecmo Koei, Bethesda, and many others will be showing off their next-gen wares this September. I don’t see Atlus on the list yet, though.

Last year was one of the biggest shows in TGS history, and 171 exhibitors attended that one. TGS says that this year’s number is already at 186, with more expected to join in soon. A press release says that they expect over 200,000 visitors to attend this year. We’ll be among them, bringing you all of the craziness.
