Bigger and better version

March 11, 2014 sounds like a nice release date for TowerFall Ascension, doesn’t it? That’s when PlayStation 4 and Steam players will be able to buy Matt Thorson’s deceptively simple-looking arena deathmatch game. Those of you in Europe awaiting the PS4 version will have a slightly longer wait, “but it shouldn’t be far behind.”

Ascension most notably has a single-player/cooperative mode in addition to its bread-and-butter Versus Mode. You can also expect a trial mode that Chris describes as being akin to Smash Bros.‘ “break the targets,” more weapons, maps, and characters.

I was one of the 5,000 or so people to play TowerFall on Ouya. Thank goodness it’s no longer restricted to that platform, to put it nicely. The new Quest Mode is exactly the type of thing I was hoping would be added to help in times of friendlessness, so this is a buy.
