Yet another update to the eight-year-old game

Fans have been holding out hope for news on the next installment in the Mario Kart franchise for a while now, and unfortunately we’re going to have to wait a bit longer for that. The good news is, though, that Mario Kart 8 is getting paid DLC, which will be rereleases of classic courses from the other games in the series.

This should tide us over, at least for a little bit longer.

It’s called the Booster Course Pass, and the plan is for Nintendo to release the remastered courses in six waves, eight at a time. Some of the courses that will be included are fan favorites like Mario Kart Wii‘s Coconut Mall, Mario Kart 64‘s Choco Mountain, and Mario Kart Tour Tokyo Blur, just to name a few.

The first wave of DLC courses drops on March 18, with the rest releasing over the course of this year and through 2023. The expansion will retail for $24.99, but will be free with the Nintendo Online Expansion Pack.
