Solaire returns

Dark Souls: Remastered was supposed to see a simultaneous worldwide release on May 24 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.

It would have been a monumental feat especially since the announcement of the Switch version came out of nowhere initially, but unfortunately it just wasn’t meant to be, and Bandai Namco delayed the Switch edition until an undetermined date. Well it’s been determined: October 19. It’ll arrive on the system with the also delayed Solaire amiibo, which has been particularly hard to get in some regions, with some stores even canceling pre-orders en masse.

Something tells me they’re actually ready this time, because while fans asked every week “when’s Souls,” they didn’t announce it by way of a special occasion or a event, but on a random Tuesday. A network test will happen at some point before release, so we can see their progress for ourselves at that point.

As a recap, Bandai Namco reconfirmed to Destructoid in a statement that the Switch version will sport 1080p visuals in TV mode, 720p in portable mode, and 30FPS for both. It’ll still support the same six player count for other Remastered editions and will have dedicated servers.
