The Outer Worldson Switch prompted a lot of conversation about if some sacrifices are worth making when porting a game to weaker hardware. For those who played it on PC, PS4, or Xbox One, it was a noticeable downgrade for sure. For me, having never played it on stronger systems, I found it to be decent enough.
It looked rough and disappointingly barren, but that might change later this month when the long-awaited patch will release on Switch. Full patch notes are being withheld for now, but the game’s Twitter page decided to give us a sneak peek at how the visuals will improve with the download.

The Outer Worldsis now available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. It will launch on Steam on October 23.
