Another World makes for a good live-action short film

Another World had such an iconic beginning, one that rapidly showed this was a game that wasn’t going to screw around, and you’d better pay attention. Even knowing full well how to escape the four-legged beast, it’s still a sequence I find nerve-wracking to this day. The game’s actual intro was cool, too — it’s been adapted for a live-action short film. Watch it above.

If, like me, you felt the credits rolled just as the short was getting started, there’s good news. The team is considering making a longer, 15-minute-or-so film possibly (probably) funded through Kickstarter. During production, support from Another World creator Eric Chahi was obtained, but “budget and time constraints” meant not all of the planned shots were made.

“We have a lot concept designs for [the] most recognizable parts of Another World,” wrote the filmmakers. “They are our foundation for the next step of our work.”

I’d be down for more, I think. Plenty of neat source material from which to draw. For now, follow that first link for behind-the-scenes photos and a making-of video.
