At least there’s always the possibility

Ar Nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star is a sci-fi/fantasy RPG from Tecmo Koei Europe that may or may not be releasing in the US. Figured we’d get that out of the way for anyone who might be interested after reading the synopsis. It’s hitting Europe on September 26, 2014, but Tecmo Koei Europe has yet to be able to confirm a release for the US — which is only fair, considering all the stuff we get that you guys don’t.

This GUST-developed JRPG follows two sets of characters: Delta and Casty, who wish to protect all of humanity, and Ion and Earthes, who wish to find Ion a way back home to Earth. Both sets of players are interchangeable and will eventually converge at one point.

Ar Nosurge is a turn-based RPG with a synthesis system with which players will create their own items, as well as relationship mechanics that players can use to craft deeper bonds with their party members.

There are also song-based aspects, such as characters attacking while one plays a song that’s meant to stave off attackers. Sounds much like Luna’s litanies from Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, which would be cool, but I’m sure they’re a little different. And hey, maybe we’ll see a stateside release soon.
