BlizzCon has six main stage mystery announcements

Four immediately after the keynote

BlizzCon is going to be a hoot this year. We can expect a discontent crowd after Blizzard’s misguided handling of the HearthstoneHong Kong thing. We can also expect Blizzard to grovel for forgiveness, pulling out all stops to win over its fragmented player base.

It would not be a good year for a slow and unremarkable BlizzCon. That probably won’t be the case. Blizzard just released the BlizzCon schedule and there’s reason to believe it’ll be full of announcements. After the opening ceremonies on Friday November 1, there’s a four-panel block of back-to-back-to-back-to-back unrevealed sessions on the main stage; on Saturday, there are two more similar main stage mystery panels. They’re presumably all going to be focused on news that’s announced during the keynote.

Potential topics are: Diablo 4, Overwatch 2, Warcraft III: Reforged, a World of Warcraftexpansion, and Diablo IIremastered. There are a lot of rumors floating around. In a vacuum, there’s a good chance it’ll be a banner year for BlizzCon — a show with more reveals and surprises than usual. Given the current climate, however, all of that might not matter much. If nothing else, it’ll be interesting.
