‘Create a PvP game mode for Fallout 76 that allows players to jump in and have a fun experience in 20 minutes or less.’

In case you haven’t heard, Bethesda brought the battle royale craze to Fallout 76.

It’s part of the Nuclear Winter update: the free summer expansion of sorts that’s part apology tour, part something that was already promised a while back as Bethesda noted that big updates for the game would be free before all the trouble began. So yeah Nuclear Winter! It’s rolled out already in a preview format, and patch 1.05 helped make it more stable.

But the team is working on more updates for it, like balancing adjusting for perk cards (the contentious Frog Legs are mentioned by name), as well as duplicate perk reward fixes (dupe reduction), and more stability: because when Fallout 76 is in the conversation, stability is one of the most important topics. The team also says that they plan on keeping Nuclear Winter relevant throughout the lifecycle of the game, in tandem with support for other modes.

Patch 11 is still happening in “early July,” with adjusts all modes (PVP, PVE, and Nuclear Winter), as well as “Power Armor improvements, new features, and plenty of fixes for bugs.” We shouldn’t forget the state it launched in, but by the time this game adds NPCs in it could be a legitimate Fallout game, a full fear later.
