Grin nadir

Salad of the wind fish.

We’re making some portable eats on this week’s A la cartridge. Inspired by the HD release of the seafaring adventure that is by far the best Legend of Zelda game, The Wind Waker, we have our first seafood dish of the show. Also perhaps the Hyrule-est pun count yet. We had the maritime of our lives. Dear god.

These individually foil-wrapped salmon pouches feel like Link could pull them out of his tunic at any point in time, chow down, and regain some hearts. Wind make some for yourself! Bonus points: if you’re not a typical seafood fan, the topping and seasonings get rid of that oft disliked “fishy taste.”

Throw one in your pocket and head onward towards adventure. Or make yourself a nice smoothie out of last week’s Puppeteer recipe.

Wind Waker Salmon Pouches

Ingredients

  • Windfish (I’m being koi; I mean salmon)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt/pepper
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • Lemon
  • Thyme leaves
  • Marjoram
  • Cayenne
  • Green onions
  • Yellow onion
  • Garlic

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, a sprinkle of thyme, a sprinkle of marjoram, a sprinkle of cayenne pepper. Adjust according to preference.

Juice a lemon into the bowl. Throw in some diced up green onions, yellow onion, and garlic. Give it a mix.

Treat the salmon pieces with some salt, pepper, and olive oil. Prepare some foil squares, lay the salmon out, top with the things you just mixed in a bowl. Wrap those aqua puppies up and cook them in the oven for about 30 minutes.
