Firewatch delayed on Xbox One in Australia due to issues with classification

While Firewatchhas recently been released on Xbox One, it looks like Australian users of Microsoft’s console platform will have to wait a little longer before being able to play it.

Campo Santo, the studio behind the game, have confirmed via Twitter thatthe Xbox One port of Firewatchwill need to be submitted to the Australian Classification Board before it can be released. This is despite the fact that the game has already received a rating prior to its PlayStation 4 and PC launch earlier this year.

Good morning afternoon, Australia & NZ! Firewatch is going to be available on Xbox One as soon as we can get it rated down there. Apologies!

There is currently no confirmed reason why the Xbox One port of Firewatchwould need to be reclassified.Kotaku Australia speculates that it more than likely has something to do with the additional content included in this new edition of the game.

Campo Santo have stated that it hopes to make the game available to Australians within the next two weeks.

The Xbox One port of Firewatch is available now in the U.S., with a European release happening on September 30. It is likely to arrive in Australia soon after that, so long as the notoriously inconsistent Australian Classification Board doesn’t have second thoughts about it.
