Bloodwing flies again

We barely got there because technical difficulties really gimped the reveal, but Gearbox is remastering the original Borderlands. Just as we suspected as recently as last week.

BorderlandsGame of the Year Edition reworks a few things, such as adding a mini-map for better navigation. Randy Pitchford also revealed that there are changes to the final boss. Additionally, there’s four-player split-screen co-op. With regard to visuals, the remaster brings support for 4K resolution and HDR.

As far as the suspected microtransactions go, Gearbox confirmed that there will be new skins and heads in the remaster. The original only had color changes. Pitchford also mentions that Shift keys will be implemented in this version, so maybe that’s the extent of how microtransactions will be handled.

This is a content-complete remaster that includes the base game and all the add-ons (The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned,Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot,The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, andClaptrap’s New Robot Revolution).

It has been a decade since Borderlandsoriginally released, but there’s barely anymore waiting for the remaster. Borderlands: Game of the Year Editionlaunches next week on April 3. It’ll be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
