Also, parrot

After seeing the skyscraper destruction in the Battlefield 4 E3 demonstration, my first thought was a standard “Wow, that’s impressive!” The folks at DICE know their stuff from a technical standpoint.

Then it hit me. I’m going to want to run this game at a decent frame rate. My next thought was “F****k, that’s impressive.” The worst (or perhaps best?) part is not knowing what kind of hardware we’ll need, but that’s no longer an unknown. Here are the system specs, straight from DICE.

Minimum:

  • Windows Vista SP2 32-bit (with KB971512 platform update)
  • AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHz / Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • AMD Radeon HD 3870 / Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT
  • 512 MB of graphics memory
  • 30 GB of hard drive space

Recommended:

  • Windows 8 64-bit
  • AMD six-core CPU / Intel quad-core CPU
  • 8 GB of RAM
  • AMD Radeon HD 7870 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 660
  • 3 GB of graphics memory
  • 30 GB of hard drive space

You good for October 29 in North America and November 1 in Europe? I’m gonna go ahead and ignore that mention of Windows 8.
