Inspired by indies like Double Fine

Insomniac may have had some big publisher backing over the years, but it considers itself to be indie at its core. That’s why for its next game, Insomniac’s going to experiment with an open development process, much like other independent studios like Double Fine have done in the past.

The title that Insomniac’s testing this out on is called Slow Down, Bull. The idea behind the game sounds like a literal bull in a china shop. The player plays as Axel the bull who tries to collect items as delicately as he can. However, bumping into things upsets him and gives way to his aggressive nature, which causes him to break everything around him. Basically, Axel needs to keep his cool.

Apart from the premise, Insomniac hasn’t shared a lot about the game. That’s because it doesn’t yet know a lot about the game. It’s being developed for PC in Unity by a small team, and they’ll livestream every Friday on Twitch at 2:00 p.m. PDT beginning this Friday. In due time, we’ll get to see the direction of Slow Down, Bull, along with new art, videos, and all the other good stuff.
