Is this a love letter to fans, or a slap in the face?

Other than a few cameos here and there, Deadpoolreallyhasn’t had his time to truly shine in the videogame world. Many of us have been dying for a game basedon his violent and off-the-wall anticsfor quite some time. Well, as luck would have it, it seems that time is finally here, and the wait for a game starring everybody’s favorite merc with a mouth as the main attraction is finally over. As excited as I should be, however, I’m having trouble convincing myself that this is the game that we’ve all been waiting for all this time.

From the gameplay videos that I’ve seen thus far, what has me excited is that all of the humor and craziness of the Deadpool universe seems to be fully intact. What doesn’t have me excited is, well, everything else. From combat that looks ho-hum at best, to bland-looking level design and so on, let’s just say I’ll be keeping my expectations low. I could be totally wrong, and may even end up really enjoying the game, as I loved the Cybertron titles from High Moon Studios, but as this point, I’m just really unsure. Join us tonight on Dtoid.TVand find out for yourself if the wait has been worth it, or not.
