Also, Ninja Gaiden II on the VC

It’s kind of a weird day for the Wii U, as it’s getting a decent amount of old games in the form of Street FighterStreet Fighter II: The World Warrior, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers are all available on the Virtual Console for $7.99. If you buy one, you can get the others for 50% off until August 29th.

For the uninitiated, World Warrior is the original SNES release — Hyper Fighting is the follow-up that jacked up the speed and some character movesets — and The New Challengers added four new characters (T. Hawk, Cammy, Fei Long, and Dee Jay) plus some reworks

There’s a ton of opinions as to what the best version of Street Fighter II is, so do some research if you’re only going to get one. I’m partial to The New Challengers if you’re choosing solely from the aforementioned three, but I like Super Street Fighter II Turbo (the first game with Akuma) a lot more.

As for the 3DS, the eShop is getting Wakedas, Funfair Party Games, Fish On 3D, and Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos (VC). Retail download wise, Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward and Phineas and Ferb: Quest for Cool Stuff are available.

Ubisoft is also having a 30% off sale until August 27th for Rayman Origins, Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars 3D, Rayman 3D, Petz Fantasy 3D, Splinter Cell 3D, and Rabbids 3D. As you can tell, a lot of these were created at the portable’s launch when putting “3D” into everything was super cool.

If you missed last week’s installment, here it is.

As for what I’m getting, I’m a big fan of The New Challengers, so I may get that for the millionth time.
