Overkill's Walking Dead game suffers another delay

Slow decay

If you’ve been eager to get your hands on Overkill’s The Walking Dead, then I’m sorry to disappoint you. Originally intended to release in 2016, Overkill’s take on the franchise is now being pushed back to the second half of 2018. Much like the walkers on the show, this game is taking its time arriving.

Starbreeze Studios (owners of Overkill) announced this decision via their official website (translated by VG 24/7). They stated their intention for delaying the game was for the product to “reach its full potential”. Its becoming increasingly odd for big publishers to not rush games out to market, but I can dig it.

If you’re still curious about the game, Starbreeze will be hosting a livestream event on May 10 to provide some insight into the development of the title, among a few others. Hopefully the game ends up good, because the last Walking Dead shooter we got was just dreadful.
