Even more Picross, now with touchscreen support

There are few certainties in life, but a reassuring one is that Jupiter keeps releasing new Picross games for the Switch. The latest, Picross S7, launched today with a fancy new feature: touchscreen controls.

In Picross S7, Jupiter has introduced support for touchscreen controls. You can use either “Touch Hold” or “Touch Toggle” as input methods, taking away the need to D-pad or stick your way around. And if you’ve got a stylus, well, you’re basically playing like it’s the 3DS all over again.

Of course, there are also a ton of new Picross puzzles to solve. Picross S7 boasts 300 Picross and Mega Picross puzzles, 150 Clip Picross, 30 Color Picross, and five Extra puzzles. For those counting at home, that’s 485, with an additional three to unlock if you have play data from Picross S4, S5, and S6.

Outside of the touchscreen, there’s really not much else to say. It’s Picross. Many already know what this game is, though if you’ve yet to play this logic-based puzzle game, you owe it to yourself to give one a shot. And despite the sheer wealth of Picross games Jupiter has put on the Switch, I’m still likely to pick this one up and burn away hours on it.

You can find Picross S7 on the Nintendo eShop here, at the price of $9.99.
