Shadow Warrior 3 joins the burgeoning 'pushed back to early 2022' club

Please, Have Mercy

Devolver Digital announced this morning that the chaotic and ace-looking Shadow Warrior 3 has been pushed further back, and will not meet its 2021 release date — the explosive shooter sequel will launch on PC and consoles in early 2022.

Shadow Warrior 3 needs a bit more time to sharpen its blades so developer Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital are sliding it into early next year!” said Devolver in a short message on Twitter. “Please enjoy the Official 2022 Delay Announcement Trailer – more release date news soon…”

The trailer sees our monster-mashing maniac Lo Wang taking it to Shadow Warrior‘s rogues’ gallery, who find themselves — like the rest of us — waiting for the violence to begin. At least I get to catch a very brief glimpse of m’lady Motoko in action. There’s no denying that Shadow Warrior 3 looks like it’s going to be a bombastic and extremely cathartic experience. I’m definitely looking forward to its eventual arrival.

Shadow Warrior 3 now joins a painfully stacked release season that also includes Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West, SNK’s King of Fighters XV, Sloclap’s Sifu, FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, Volition’s Saints Row, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Extraction, Techland’s Dying Light 2, Sony’s Gran Turismo 7… Well…you get the picture.

Shadow Warrior 3 launches in early 2022 on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
