PlayStation 4 v1.70 Update

Sony has released a detailed look at the next major PlayStation 4 system update hitting owners starting on April 30. The big thing they’re focusing on is the SHAREfactory feature, where you can make custom videos and share them to the world.

Other major new features include automatic pre-downloading of games, disabling HDCP, USB exporting for captured footage, live broadcasting in 720p HD with archiving support on Twitch and Ustream, the ability to turn down the brightness of the PS4 controller’s light bar, better friends tools, alternative payment methods for PS4 content, and more camera commands.

The PlayStation Vita is also getting a new update tomorrow, making remote play simpler than ever before. The PlayStation App will get a new update as well, giving users push notifications for PS4 updates, game alerts, and friend requests.

There’s some other new additions with these new firmware updates, all of which is detailed over on the PlayStation Blog.
