Sony plans to launch an Internet TV service in the US by year’s end, Sony Computer Entertainment president Andrew House told The Wall Street Journal.

The report asserts Sony has agreed to terms with Viacom, the parent company behind MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central, to offer more than 20 channels and various on-demand programming via Sony devices, including PlayStation systems and web-connected televisions.

Sony is also in talks with other major network groups, such as Discovery, Time Warner and Starz. The measure comes as part of the company’s initiative to expand its streaming services, which includes PlayStation Now.
