Valve is always looking for an excuse to throw a sale, and this week Steam has deep discounts on Japanese indie games. The occasion? This summer’s Comiket is taking place over the weekend.

Comiket (Comic Market) is a biannual event where over half a million people descend upon Tokyo’s Big Sight exhibition center to acquire rare independently-created goods directly from the creators.

Most of the games in this sale were originally sold at Comiket, where people wait in line for hours on end, but thankfully you can avoid the hassle and just download them straight to your PC.

There’s a lot of games on offer from localization groups like Playism, Nyu Media, Sekai Project, Fruitbat Factory, and Rockin’ Android — including everything from shoot-’em-ups and platformers to visual novels and role-playing games — so here are a few that I heartily recommend:
