Seems reasonable

Hyrule Warriors, the Dynasty Warriors-esque action game set in The Legend of Zelda universe, is coming to Wii U this year. And developer Tecmo Koei hopes the game is a big hit, obviously.

Speaking in interview with Nikkei Trendy regarding the company’s goals for the upcoming fiscal year, Tecmo Koei president Yoichi Erikawa revealed selling a million copies of the upcoming Wii U game was among them.

“In addition to our Warriors series fan base, Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda is also a very popular series with a large fan base, and I think it will become a great new market,” said Erikawa. “Because of The Legend of Zelda’s legion of fans overseas, we are aiming to sell more than one million copiesworldwide.”

As Erikawa pointed out, given the immense popularity of both franchises, one million sales doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility. This project seems like a good opportunity for cross-pollination, pulling in folks from both sides of the aisle to experience something new. Maybe they’ll even sell a few consoles in the process.
