Who also happen to be the developer! What a twist!

Back in March, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger was delisted from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store and Steam. However, the game has now suddenly returned to the Steam storefront, with a 33% discount to boot.

It would appear this sudden departure and reappearance of the game was due to the rights of the series being acquired by the game’s developer, Techland, from its former publisher, Ubisoft. In a press release, Techland Publishing CPO Adam Lason had this to say:

“Developed by Techland, the Call of Juarez series received a great reception and support from a huge community of players. As Techland Publishing moves forward as a leading publisher, we are delighted to welcome Call of Juarez: Gunslinger to our publishing division. We would like to thank Ubisoft for its incredible work publishing the Call of Juarez games. We’ll continue the great efforts of Ubisoft and support the fans of the Call of Juarez universe in the same dutiful and passionate way.”

Whether or not previous Call of Juarez games will be available on various digital storefronts will “be shared at a later date.”

Personally, I’m just happy the series has a new lease on life. With the developers now owning the rights to the series, I can only hope we see a new Call of Juarez in the near future. Just as long as it’s not a follow-up to Call of Juarez: The Cartel
