For a shorter, equally brutal experience

Left Behind was a great piece of story DLC for The Last of Us, filling in a portion of the main story that is glossed over and providing a clearer look at Ellie’s origin. Any who want to try out the three-hour episode as a taste before jumping into the full experience will be able to do so beginning May 12.

It will be available on both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 for $9.99, and any who buy it can then upgrade for more of The Last of Us. Adding the Factions multiplayer mode will cost an extra $9.99 and upgrading to the full single player campaign runs another $19.99. The mathematically inclined might note that this presents an overall price drop. The Last of Us Remastered is currently listed on the PlayStation Store at $49.99; buying everything piecemeal after May 12 will be about ten bucks less.

This might just be the last push to get people to play The Last of Us. I can’t imagine there are too many people who want to but haven’t yet. It seems like most PS4s come with it packed in these days.
