Breath of the Wild 2 would be…wild

Monolith Soft, the studio that brought ups Xenoblade Chronicles, is looking to hire artists, designers, and programmers for the next Zelda project.

While this isn’t fully confirmed to be the next core Zelda, it’s another entry nonetheless, and Monolith Soft isn’t hiding it with a gigantic Zelda-themed landing page on the recruitment portion of their site.Note that Zelda generally only has one core console entry per generation with a few exceptions (it’s tough to really put the “end of life” ports like Twilight Princess on GameCube and Breath of the Wild on Wii U in the same category as Majora’s Maskfollowing up Ocarina of Time), but with the long legs of the Switch it could easily host two.

As Siliconera points out, the Kyoto branch of Monolith Soft has worked on Skyward Sword, A Link Between Worlds, and Breath of the Wild proving support for Nintendo. In addition to developing their own IPs like Xenoblade (which is now three games strong across the Wii, Wii U, and Switch platforms) they’re also an invaluable part of Nintendo’s DNA when it comes to open world RPGs.
