[Update: Prices below have been updated for Cyber Monday. The smaller Y700-14 is now only $559! Deal is 24-hours only.]

Gamers looking for a gaming laptop this shopping season have another option, with Lenovo offering a decently priced Ideapad Y700 on sale for only $766 as a Black Friday “doorbuster” item.

The Y700 is a “mainline” laptop for Lenovo’s performance-oriented customers. The 15-inch one we’re focusing on comes with a Quad-Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, a combo 1TB HDD + 128GB SSD setup, and a decent GeForce GTX 960M. While the GTX 960M isn’t exactly the pinnacle of mobile GPU, it is far from a slouch. You should be able to play most modern titles in medium settings without a problem. Check benchmarks here to see if performance on your game of choice will be acceptable.

If $766 is too rich for your blood, you can look into the Y700-15’s little brother, the Y700-14. Priced at $623.99 for Black Friday, the $143 savings gets you a very similar speced smaller 14-inch machine except for one glaring difference: the GPU downgrade. You’ll go from a capable GTX 960M to a Radeon R9 M375, which by all accounts seems to be a “mid-range” GPU (as listed here), but glancing at benchmarks, you’re definitely not going to be hit high settings in demanding games. Check this video out for a quick comparison.

Both deals are set to expire on November 25, 2016. In fact, both deals are not supposed to be live as of writing, but we saw the code being activated early. If you click through, you’ll see a different “doorbuster” themed coupon on Lenovo’s site. Make sure you ignore those and use the ones listed above as they’ll provide you with more of a discount.
