Visual novels are love

Can’t get enough BlazBlue? Check out XBlaze Code: Embryo, something completely different. Arc System Works’ visual novel follows Touya Kagari as he finds himself entangled within a network of secretive organizations and a gaggle of strangers he’s finding are his mortal enemies. In short, it’s a game I would enjoy. And I bet Kyle would, too.

The game utilizes the original Japanese-language dub, as well as the “TOi System of Fate Determination” system, which allows players to learn more about their surroundings in order to aid Touya in making more informed decisions. I haven’t played the game yet, but it sounds like it could be an interesting mechanic.

It’s available now on PlayStation 3 and Vita, so if you’re interested you can grab it for either system. That Vita, though. Continuing to be a mecca for all things VN and niche-related. I can’t complain. I’m loving it.

Oh, and there’s another game out now as well: BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, available for Vita so you can play the visual novel as a companion to the excellent fighter. Perhaps you’ve heard of it.
