There’s not enough time to play everything that looks good, so what’ll it be?

Xbox Game Pass has a bunch of pretty compelling games lined up for September, eight of which — including SkateBirdSable, Unsighted, and Aragami 2 — are day-one gets.

Let’s just jump right into the list:

  • Flynn: Son of Crimson (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 15
  • I Am Fish (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 16
  • SkateBird (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 16
  • Superliminal (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 16
  • Aragami 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 17
  • Lost Words: Beyond the Page (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 23
  • Sable (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 23
  • Subnautica: Below Zero (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 23
  • Tainted Grail: Conquest (PC) – September 23
  • Lemnis Gate (Console and PC) – September 28
  • Astria Ascending (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 30
  • Unsighted (Console and PC) – September 30
  • Phoenix Point (Console) – October 1

I’ve had my eye on Unsighted ever since the convincing Steam demo, Subnautica: Below Zero is a fantastic survival adventure for folks who crave more story, Sable and SkateBird both look interesting (but potentially short-lived), and Aragami 2 is serving up co-op stealth hijinks, which is a rare and pleasant sight. There’s only a couple of names on this list that I don’t recognize, and there’s a lot of strong potential across the board.

For those of you tapped into the cloud-based mobile scene, there are 11 games with newly-added touch controls for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers: Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, Cris Tales, Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, Halo Wars 2, Last Stop, Omno, Raji: An Ancient Epic, The Medium, and Tropico 6.

The next two weeks are the last chance to finish up (or begin and binge) Dark Hollow, Ikenfell, Night in the Woods, Kathy Rain, and Warhammer: Vermintide 2, as those games will be shedding their Xbox Game Pass status on September 30, 2021.

What are you prioritizing on the September list? Or are you too busy elsewhere?
