Confirmed for both North America and Europe

Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains is officially on its way to North America and Europe. Atlus USA just formally announced plans to publish the Nintendo 3DS action game as part of today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. Expect it to hit western shores sometime this May.

The localization is based on a revised version of the game, which features local and online co-op for up to four players. It’s also compatible with the New 3DS XL’s nub and the Circle Pad Pro.

Attack on Titantakes place in a universe where enormous humanoid creatures have pushed humanity to the brink of extinction. The story centers on military personnel tasked with defending mankind from the predators that lurk beyond the walls their society is now forced to hide behind.

Should you be unfamiliar with the popular manga and anime series this is based on, Atlus tells us the first two episodes of the show are available for free via the Nintendo eShop. You can also catch the entire first season elsewhere via video streaming services like Crunchyroll.
