Days Gone still motoring along at the top of the UK Charts

Minor movement in this week’s Top Ten

Sony Bend’s open-road adventure Days Gone is celebrating its third week at the top of the UK Charts, having fended off Warner Bros. gory sequel Mortal Kombat 11 yet again.

It is worthy of note however, that these charts are strictly reflective of physical copies only. In terms of digital stores, recent reports show that sales between the two titles have been even more competitive. Mortal Kombat 11 soundly outsold Days Gone on the U.S. PlayStation Store. However, over on the European equivalent, MK 11 didn’t even outsell team-shooter World War Z. This has been one of the strangest launches in Mortal Kombat’s storied history.

Elsewhere in the physical charts, most of the titles in the Top Ten retained their places from last week, while the Switch release of Saints Row The Third: The Full Package launched at number 15. The release of Avengers: Endgame in theatres has given a mighty boost to comic book titles, with Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, Lego DC Super-Villains and Marvel’s Spider-Man all climbing into the Top 15.

With this week’s launch of chaotic shooter Rage 2, it will be interesting to see if Days Gone can hold fort for one more week, making it a month for the sleeper hit.
