Destiny, Titanfall win big at Gamescom Awards 2013

Get a second opinion

You saw our top ten games of gamescom. For the sake of comparison, let’s take a look at the official Gamescom Awards 2013. There is some overlap, of course, but there are also some surprises in here.

Destiny took home best PlayStation console game as well as best action game and best online multiplayer game, while Titanfall nabbed best Microsoft console game and best next-generation console game. Those are to be expected, for the most part — although it is interesting that a cross-gen title ended up winning that category.

The full list is viewable below but, I have to say, it was curious to see The Elder Scrolls Online take home best role-playing game. Best social/casual/online game? Sure. I can see that. But RPG? What else was in the running for that category?
