Don’t forget about the Mishima!

Need an E3 amiibo recap? We got you covered. All five of you who are still collecting with me, buckle up!

So first up there’s the saga of the Metroid Dread amiibo. Man! Does it feel like 2015 again. So this release is actually a two-pack of both Samus (and her new look) and an E.M.M.I robot enemy. Unfortunately, this thing has been nigh impossible to find, as I found out while hunting it online yesterday. Best Buy sold out in just a few minutes. Target sold out in roughly a minute, if that. Amazon’s listing has been oscillating between “out of stock” and “unavailable.” And GameStop’s stock sold out in several minutes. It’s a somber E3 amiibo recap so far!

Now there’s another interesting thing to note: Nintendo technically confirmed another amiibo figure by announcing a new Super Smash Ultimate fighter. That’s right, Kazuya Mishima of Tekken fame will implicitly be getting a figure of his own at some point, whenever Nintendo catches up with the current DLC.

Right now we’re stuck on Byleth; and Nintendo still has to release figures for Min Min, Steve, Sephiroth, and Pyra/Mythra. While we haven’t seen any molds for Kazuya yet, perhaps Sakurai will tell us more on June 28 when his Kazuya stream will be held

As always, we have a fully complete list of all amiibo that I’ve been updating for six years. Now that’s dedication! Feel free to sift through it if you want to take a trip through the history of some plastic.
