Not your typical game characters
A month-long game jam, JamForLeelah, recently concluded and the 22 participating games are available now. Leelah Alcorn was a transgender teen who had a passion for videogames and an interest in game design. Leelah took her life at the end of last year.
JamForLeelah spreads awareness for LGBTIQ issues and supports various transgender-based charities. Most of the games deal with gender, coming out and what it is like to be transgender; things many of us may never have to think about. The also jam includes a visual novel made by Destructoid’s very ownLaura Kate Dale. The games and more information are available on the jam’s official site.
