There’s a lot to take in

Falloutgames are convenient in that each of the stories are independent of one another. That is to say, you don’t need to have played Fallout 3to understand and enjoy Fallout 4. However, there is quite a lot of backstory to the world, and diving into that will provide context for why things are the way they are.

That’s a daunting task to say the least. This video makes it considerably less taxing, though. Over 16 minutes, the basic history of Fallout is given, covering things like The Great War, emergent factions, political agendas, and differing ideologies. It’s both a good jumping-off point for newcomers and a nice reminder for those who have already taken the plunge.

With Fallout 4releasing in just a few days, it’d be a good idea to give this a watch. It’ll be possible to spend hundreds of hours wandering the Wasteland of the Commonwealth. Why not take a quarter of an hour for a refresher on why this is all happening?
