Shang Tsung available for Kombat Pass owners

Today sees the launch of Kombat League, a new seasonal ranked mode in goreriffic fighter Mortal Kombat 11. Kombat League will give players the opportunity to compete online for points, bragging rights, and even a few exclusive skins.

Each month, players can fight it out online within the league, in hopes of climbing a nine-tier ranking ladder. Each tier, from Apprentice to Elder God – will bag players in-game items, such as skins and weapon variants. Some of these skins will only be available via ranked victories, so we’re talking kit to be worn with pride – unless you’re an Erron Black player. You lost your pride long ago, pal.

Also arriving as part of the new update is early access for MK 11’s first post-launch DLC character, Shang Tsung. The shape-shifting, soul-stealing MK boss can be played today by anyone who purchased the Kombat Pass. Tsung will then be made available to purchase for all in about a weeks time.

Hopefully, this update will also tweak online stability, which has suffered a little since the latest update. Given that the Kombat League relies entirely on online battles, it’d be a good call to get things back up to speed. Good luck warriors… Oh, and stop doing fatalities online. It’s been over a month, we’ve seen them, you’re wasting both out time, capiche?

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
